Water Wonderland

Lake Dillon (the Dillon Reservoir) is located in the heart of Summit County. Surrounded by the mountain peaks of the Ten Mile Range, this beautiful 3,300 acre body of crisp, clean Colorado water has 25 miles of shoreline to explore. How do you do that? Well, hiking is always a great option. But if you are looking to cool off and dip your toes in the water, then we have just the place for you!

Frisco Bay Marina

Sitting along the shores of the reservoir is the Frisco Bay Marina. This full-service marina has so much to offer in the ways of water fun! The marina itself sits on the east end of Main Street Frisco, a short 20 minute drive from downtown Breckenridge. It is my favorite place to spend a warm summer day. My go-to activity? I usually will rent a stand up paddleboard (SUP) from the marina and hit the water for a few hours. The Frisco Bay Marina also offers a whole host of other services including:

  • Canoe and kayak rentals
  • Stand up paddleboard rentals
  • Powerboat and fishing boat rentals
  • Sailboat lessons, rentals, tours, and paddleboat rentals
  • Fishing pole rentals
  • Classic boat tours of Dillon Reservoir
  • Lake Dillon Water Taxi
  • Island Grill (They serve phenomenal food and drinks!)
  • Marina Park with a playground for the kids
  • Slips, moorings, racks, and dry storage options

Not only that, but the marina also serves as a full service retail store and repair facility. They sell canoes and kayaks from Old Town and Necky, offer sail, fiberglass, and boat repairs, and are also a dealership for Evinrude/Johnson outboard motor service. You can’t beat that! So pack up the car and head to Frisco Bay Marina for a day of fun. I’ll see you there!
