Nordic skiing (also known as cross-country skiing), is the oldest type of skiing in the world. Skis were formerly used to for folks to travel over snow-covered terrain. What started as something practical for everyday use was quickly turned into a race and grew from there.

Nowadays, we enjoy cross-country skiing as a great way to enjoy the great outdoors. Get a great cardio workout, or take it slow and just enjoy the view. This is even a great activity to enjoy with the kids and the canines!

Breckenridge Nordic Center

This is the best spot to go and learn the ins and outs of nordic skiing! Picture beautiful enchanted forests, epic mountain views, and over 1,400 acres of carefully groomed trails. Sounds like a postcard photo, right? Choose from Classic Nordic or skate skiing—both are a ton of fun!

Whether you are an experienced nordic skier or a newbie, there’s options available for all ability levels. For the experienced folks, stop by the lodge and grab your ski pass and hit the trails from there! If you are looking for more instruction, lessons are offered daily! Choose your ski style of choice and have a blast learning something new!

Group Beginner Classic Lessons

When starting something new, you’ve got to learn from the ground up! Group sizes are limited to 8 people including an instructor.

  • Adults: $55
  • Youth and Seniors: $45
  • Trail pass included, rentals are an additional price
  • Please no children under 14 in group lessons
  • Semi-Private Classic and Skate Lessons

Semi-Private Lessons

The semi-private lessons are perfect for larger family/friend groups. Learn in a much more intimate, hands-on environment with a dedicated instructor. Group sizes are set at a maximum of 7 people, unless you are heading out on an adventure to the Upper Trail System on Peak 7, where larger group sizes are permitted.

  • Youth and Seniors: $45
  • Offered for all levels of both Skate and Classic skiing
  • Trail pass included, rentals are an additional price

Private Classic and Skate Lessons

Privates are a great way for the knowledgable instructors at Breck Nordic Center to customize the experience to your groups needs. Explore and discover the beautiful trails while learning from the best professionals in the area.

  • Adults: $75
  • Seniors: $65
  • Youth 17 and under are asked to book a semi-private lesson with a chaperone adult
  • Offered for all levels of both classic and skate skiing
  • Trail pass included, rentals are an additional price

Gold Run Nordic Center (Breckenridge Recreation Department)

Take advantage of over 30,000 impeccably groomed classic and skate cross-country ski trails. There’s trails for all ability levels that skiers get to enjoy at their leisure. Stop and take some photos, or test the limits and get that heart rate racing!

Daily Trail Pass Rates

  • Adult (18-59): $20
  • Senior (60-69): $15
  • Super Senior (70+): $5
  • Youth (7-17): $15
  • Children (6 & under): Free

Punch Passes

  • Adults (18-59): 3-punch- $50; 6-punch- $95; 10-punch- $150
  • Senior/Youth: 3-punch- $35; 6-punch- $65; 10-punch- $100

Daily Group Ski Lessons

Lessons are offered daily at 9:30am and 1:00pm and last about 1-1.5 hours. The cost is $45/person and additional persons within the same party are $35. Trail passes are included and rentals are available for an additional $20.

Private Lessons

Private lessons are available, based on instructor availability. Lessons are about 1-1.5 hours and cost $55/person. Trail passes are included and rentals are available for an additional $20.
