Cheers to Romantic Dinners in Breckenridge
There’s something romantic about walking arm-in-arm down through lightly falling snow in a charming Victorian town at the base of the majestic Rockies. That’s exactly what Breckenridge offers for you and your sweetie. One of the most popular activities in town is just that – strolling down Main Street, enjoying the views and enjoying the company of each other.
If you want to increase the romance quotient, duck into one of Breck’s quaint restaurants. Ask for a table in the corner with a view. Or, better yet, call ahead or book a table online – in advance. Well, in advance. Then, order a fine bottle of wine or cocktail and soak in the ambiance at one of these romantic spots for dinner in Breckenridge.
Known as one of the best restaurants in town, there’s a reason couples and groups of friends flock to Relish restaurant for special occasions. If you’re celebrating an anniversary or just looking for a special night out, this is the place to be. Chef Matt Fackler uses fresh Colorado ingredients and prepares them with a lot of flourish and playful flair. Don’t miss the baked escargot to start followed by one of the seasonal entrees that usually feature Colorado steak or game.
This restaurant is located in the heart of downtown on the second floor right on the Blue River Plaza, and offers stunning views of the slopes. Ask for a window seat to watch the snow falling over the Blue River. And make sure to call ahead to make a reservation. This is one of the most popular places in town.

This is always one of our favorite spots for happy hour and cocktails. Even if you start your night at Modis with one of their lovingly prepared cocktails, stay for the main course, but ask to move upstairs. It’s worth it just to ascend the graceful, impressive curving stairs and feel the majesty of the history and the grandeur. Plus, the upstairs dining room is much more intimate and quiet, which allows you and your honey to share your deepest thoughts, along with a rich, decadent dessert like the chocolate cake or the seasonal chocolate dipping sauces.
When you step into the Hearthstone, you might feel right at home. That’s by design. The restaurant is located in a 125-year-old Victorian home – the Kaiser Home. Since 1989, the Hearthstone Restaurant has been serving up Colorado favorites like elk, lamb, steak and fish, along with candlelit romance. It’s across the street from the Backstage Theatre and the Breckenridge Arts District. Pair a play or an arts class – maybe a pottery class or painting class – with a dinner together and create your own magical evening.
Ridge Street Wine and Breckenridge Cheese & Chocolate
It almost sounds too good to be true, but it really does exist. Ridge Street Wine is co-located with its sister shop, Breckenridge Cheese & Chocolate. That means you can get wine, cheese and chocolate all in the same spot. It also means that the owner Anne Dowling, who is a sommelier, has hand-selected the best wines, chocolates and cheese from around the globe. Make this one of your first stops and enjoy a wine and chocolate pairing upstairs in their cozy tasting rooms before trekking down Main Street for dinner. Oh, and don’t let their name fool you. You won’t find Ridge Street Wine on Ridge Street. Instead, find the narrow walkway right off of Main Street. That’ll lead you to the sweet smells and delicious tastes for a romantic spot.
Enjoy a taste of romance in Breckenridge at one of these cozy spots in town. Or, find your own spot and create your own romance. Cheers!
