International Snow Sculpture Championships

International Snow Sculpture Championships: January

Another way Breckenridge celebrates its love of snow is by hosting the International Snow Sculpture Championships. Hosted by Breckenridge Brewery and Your Hometown Toyota Stores, teams from around the world gather every January to chip, sculpt and shape works of art made out of snow right in the middle of downtown Breckenridge.

Where: 150 W. Adams Avenue, Breckenridge CO

The perfect temperatures in January make this the perfect time of year for snow sculpting – temps in the teens and twenties but with some bluebird days!  The event is split up into three weeks, with a technical week, sculpting week and then finally the viewing week.  Judges will vote for the winners in this prestigious competition. You can join in too and choose your favorite with the People’s Choice Vote.  Stop by the Riverwalk Center’s headquarters for more information.

Even the littlest artist can get in the spirit with the Junior Snow Sculpture event at Main Street Station.

Remember, this event is FREE to the public and dogs are allowed to join in on the viewing (but must be leashed and kept away from the sculptures).
